Board Of Directors
As we enter 2026 and continue stewarding our remarkable heritage,
Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club (SBPRC) proudly celebrates its
enduring role as the premier venue for competitive polo in the United
States from April through October. We fulfill this commitment by
maintaining the highest quality playing surfaces—both at our core
club fields and alongside our valued field partners. Last year was a
tremendous success, with six additional world‐class fields in rotation
alongside our three centralized club fields, and a consistently sold‐out
grandstand for both Sunday Polo and Friday Happy Hour events.
SBPRC offers a comprehensive and competitive array of amenities,
including on‐site stabling, outstanding facilities for youth polo and
lessons, and a dedicated exercise track for our equine athletes. For our
human athletes and members, the club also boasts a fitness center,
tennis courts, and swimming pool. We take great pride in sharing these
exceptional facilities with our players, members, and their families, and
in fostering a vibrant, welcoming club experience.
I am delighted to welcome two new directors, Matt Yonally and Kevin
Mokarow, to the Board of Directors. Serving alongside them in 2026
are Rhys Williams, Kevin Nimmons, Michele Neely, Justin Klentner,
Brian Boyd, and Sy Zahedi. We are also fortunate to have a first‐class
management team, led with distinction by David Sigman and Melanja
Jones for the past decade, ensuring the club is exceptionally well
positioned for continued strength, growth, and success.
We extend our sincere gratitude to our membership and to our many
sponsors—both new and returning—whose generosity and enthusiasm
sustain our very special member‐run, not‐for‐profit club. We are
energized by the direction of SBPRC and remain fully committed to
growth across our ProAm, Pro Pool, and Polo Academy programs.
As a representative of the oldest continuously playing family at the club
since 1953, I am keenly aware of the responsibility and privilege of
ensuring that SBPRC continues to thrive in competitiveness, demand,
and overall experience for generations to come.
On behalf of your Trustees and Board of Directors, it is our great pleasure
to welcome you to an exceptional and celebratory 115th season at Santa
Barbara Polo & Racquet Club!
Sincerely,
W. HENRY WALKER
